The Garden Grill Restaurant at Epcot is one of the most popular locations in all of Walt Disney World, and that is due to the character experience and the cool fact that the restaurant rotates while you eat. Well, the latter is something that currently isn’t working and there’s no timetable on when it will be fixed either.
Located on the second floor of The Land pavilion, Garden Grill is known for its family-style meal and rotating views as it circles around. During this time, characters like Mickey Mouse, Pluto, Chip, and Dale come around and interact with guests.
Well, a few weeks ago, the rotating function stopped working and the Garden Grill is currently stationary.
A week or so later, some full-size movable screens were put up in the front of the restaurant. This stopped guests from peering in and staring the whole time since the front is open to the rest of The Land.
Now, one would think that the rotating function of the Garden Grill would be fixed immediately since it is the gimmick there.
That doesn’t seem to be happening.
Some Cast Members at Garden Grill have informed me that work was being done to fix the rotation of the restaurant, but it hadn’t yet worked. Apparently, the cost of fixing it is rather high and that could be a reason for the delay.
Mind you, that is from a Cast Member at Garden Grill and not a manager or Imagineer.
Word is that a number of dining reservations have been changed or completely cancelled by guests for Garden Grill due to the restaurant not spinning.
Will keep an eye on this and keep you updated on if the Garden Grill is going to ever spin again.
