Every year in the first couple of months, Splash Mountain is non-operational for usually three months so it can have its annual refurbishment. Well, the dates are now out for 2015 for the Magic Kingdom attraction and guests will be happy to know that it shouldn’t be as long this year.
Splash Mountain will officially close for refurbishment on Jan. 4, 2015, and it is set to stay closed through Jan. 30, 2015.
That gives guests a tentative reopening date of Jan. 31, 2015, for Splash Mountain.
If this refurbishment stays on schedule, then that’s actually really good as compared to recent years. In 2013, Splash Mountain was closed from early January until almost the end of March.
Earlier this year, Splash Mountain closed for refurbishment on Jan. 6, 2014, and was to reopen by the end of the month. That was quickly extended though and it was closed until deep into March yet again.
