Be Our Guest: Updated Instructions On Getting a Lunch FASTPass and Using Standby

Be Our Guest FASTPassThere has been a bit of confusion and such as to how to get into Be Our Guest Restaurant at the Magic Kingdom over the past few months. Well, I decided to go right to the source and get the exact information on what are the best ways of getting a chance to eat there and what methods can be used such as advanced dining reservation, FASTPass, or even just the standby line.

Ok…so let it be known that I went and did some research and field work to get this information as up-to-date as possible. I spoke to Cast Members, managers, sources, and more from Be Our Guest and as of Nov. 13, 2014, this is the correct information that is currently in place. Mind you, it can and could change, but for now, this  is how you can get into Be Our Guest.

Here is the thing though, you must be staying at a Walt Disney World Resort in order to get a lunch FASTPass+ for Be Our Guests. At this time, daily guests and even just Annual Passholders cannot get one. You need a Disney Resort reservation number to get it.

FASTPass reservations for Be Our Guest can be made no sooner than 30 days prior to when you wish to dine. Sometimes, that has been 27 days and sometimes it has been longer. I can attest to the fact that this number has fluctuated.

Also, Disney Resort Guests no longer need to wait for the email from Disney to go do this. You can just do it.

1.) Head over to the Be Our Guest FASTPass+ reservation site to get things started.

2.) Log-in by using your username and password for your My Disney Experience account.

3.) Upon logging in, it will ask you for your Reservation ID (Disney Resort reservation number), First Name, and Last Name.

IMPORTANT: You can only put in numbers for the reservation ID and not letters. Some may find this confusing as room-only Disney Resort reservations have all numbers, but any vacation packages have letters.

Room-Only reservation numbers can often be found here: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/trip/my-vacation/

For those that booked a vacation package, here is how you can find out your numerical-only reservation ID.

  1. Head to https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/trip/my-vacation/
  2. Hover your cursor over the words “Check In Online,” but do not click on it.
  3. There will be a URL that it leads you to, and it is usually visible in the bottom left-hand corner of your browser window. At the end of the URL is a 12-digit number and that is your number-only reservation ID.

I can attest that this works as I did it as recently as a week ago. If your number doesn’t show up by hovering over the link for “Check In Online,” then click it and on the next page you go to…look at the URL in the top address bar and grab the 12-digit number from there.

4.) You can then select your date for lunch and arrival time window (between 10:30 a.m. and 1:45 p.m.) for Be Our Guest. This is where you will also enter the number of guests in your party, and that number cannot be added to upon arrival.

Guests will have a 30-minute arrival window. Not all dates are available yet so don’t try making them for 180 days out, but that could change at any time so always try.

5.) At this point, you will be able to place your order for your lunch at Be Our Guest. If you aren’t yet sure of what you want, you can skip this or modify it later.

“FASTPass+ Direct To Table” will give you the option of pre-ordering your food and heading right to your table after checking in at Be Our Guest.

“FASTPass+ Expedited Arrival” means not pre-ordering your food, but then bypassing the standby line upon arrival at Be Our Guest.

That’s it. Honestly, it is that simple. From there though, you have to know what you’re doing once you arrive at Be Our Guest Restaurant.

1.) Arrive at Be Our Guest for your designated FASTPass+ reservation time and have your MagicBand scanned. If you’ve ordered already, you can pay with your MagicBand or credit card and head to the table of your choice anywhere inside or if directed by a Cast Member, follow them.

NOTE: If you need to make changes to your order, advise the CMs upon time of check-in.  This could delay your time waiting for your food, but make sure to let them know as soon as you arrive.

If you haven’t ordered, you will be directed to the parlor so that you can pick what you’d like to eat.

2.) Your food will be brought to your table by Cast Members once it is ready. You will be given a Magic Rose at the entrance or your MagicBands will serve as a guide for the CMs.

STANDBY

There is indeed still a lunch standby line for Be Our Guest, but not always. If you want to try and get in on the standby line, it is recommended that you go there as early as possible and wait in line. Cast Members will direct you where to wait and even if it is necessary to get in line.

It has been made known to me that standby lines could be closed off by 11:30 a.m. or earlier, depending on how many people have FASTPass reservations or are already in line.

If all FASTPass reservations for the day have been handed out, it’s very possible that a standby line may not open up at all. Your best bet is to head there first thing in the morning and find out.

DINNER

~ As always, ADRs are what’s needed for dinner. Simple enough. You can sometimes chance doing a walk-in, but don’t ever count on that because it’s a risk and nowhere near guaranteed to happen at Be Our Guest.
