There is some rather interesting news coming out of Disney’s Hollywood Studios today as an area that many feared was in danger, is getting new life. Word is that the area with MupeptVision 3D and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano will now be called “Muppet’s Courtyard.”

For a long time, that area has been referred to as “Muppet’s Courtyard” unofficially, but it looks as if the park maps will soon recognize it as its official name.
With many locations around the Streets of America closing after Apr. 2, 2016, Disney is changing up a number of things and revealing new information. The Star Wars-themed land is about to get underway and Toy Story Land is being built on the other side of the park as well.
With this new name of Muppet’s Courtyard, it appears as if rumors of the old Pizza Planet (currently under refurbishment) could be transformed into a Muppets-themed restaurant. It is expected that Pizza Planet will reopen in the Toy Story Land area.
Rumors of MuppetVision 3D being closed and shut down have been swirling for months, but this makes it seem like Kermit, Fozzy, Miss Piggy, and others are safe.
Here are the locations at Disney’s Hollywood Studios that will be closing for good at the end of Apr. 2, 2016:
- Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set Adventure
- Lights, Motors, Action! Extreme Stunt Show
- Meet & Greet: Mike and Sulley at Streets of America
- Prop Shop
- Studio Catering Co.
- The Writer’s Stop
- Watto’s Grotto
Please note that the new name of Muppet’s Courtyard has not been confirmed by Disney and an official announcement has not been made so anything can still change. Still, it looks as if that is the route that things are going as the overhaul of Disney’s Hollywood Studios continues.
