A few days ago, it was confirmed that changes were taking place at the Whispering Canyon Cafe in Disney’s Wilderness Lodge with the hijinks and shenanigans being stopped. Since then, there has been a bit of confusion and Disney has now clarified how things are going in the dining location.
Once word started going around social media that the shenanigans had ended at Whispering Canyon, guests started asking Disney directly on Twitter. Disney officially responded to the inquiries saying they are “continuously updating their offerings” at WDW and working on “what’s next” for Whispering Canyon.
After that confirmation, some guests have said that they have still experienced the normal routines at Whispering Canyon while others have not. Upon asking Disney for clarification, they sent this response:
“Hello, Thank you for reaching out to us with your concern. Whispering Canyon Cafe is still a rootin’ tootin’ good time for the whole family, with plenty of antics. You will notice that we’ve asked our Cast Members to turn down the volume a bit, to be more considerate to all our Guests at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge. We appreciate your inquiry. Thank you!”
So, there are a few things to take from this response:
1.) The shenanigans don’t appear to have been totally stopped, but they have been toned down.
2.) It appears the changes are due to the noise level from the restaurant and possibly bothering those in the lobby or guest rooms off of the lobby.
