Just in case you may have thought that there was too much time between the two Pixar films for Incredibles 2 to be successful, let me put your mind a ease. In its opening weekend at the box office, the movie not only broke records but it BOOM POW SOCK-ed them into oblivion.
Incredibles 2Finding Dory is bringing in huge crowds and it brought in an incredible estimated $180 million at the domestic box office in its opening weekend. It broke the record for opening weekend for an animated film which was $135 million made by Finding Dory back in 2016.
Not only is that great for animated films, but Incredibles 2 had the eighth largest opening of all time by surpassing the $179.1 million made by Captain America: Civil War in its opening weekend at the box office.
Here are the top 10 films at the box office for the weekend of June 15-17, 2018:
1.) Incredibles 2 – $180 million
2.) Ocean’s 8 – $19.55 million
3.) Tag – $14.6 million
4.) Solo: A Star Wars Story – $9.08 million
5.) Deadpool 2 – $8.8 million
6.) Hereditary – $7.026 million
7.) Superfly – $6.3 million
8.) Avengers: Infinity War – $5.296 million
9.) Adrift – $2.1 million
10.) Book Club – $1.77 million
Final numbers will be out on Monday, but there likely won’t be much to any fluctuation.
