Plastic Straws Now Only Available Upon Request At A Number Of Walt Disney World Dining Locations

About a month ago, it was revealed that The Walt Disney Company was making a strong move forward with their environmental efforts and it is starting to show. A number of dining locations at Walt Disney World now only have plastic straws available for guests upon request.

Disney announced last month that they would be working toward reducing the number of plastic straws, plastic stirrers, and plastic bags throughout their theme parks. That is in addition to all of its owned and operated businesses around the world.

It appears as if the move has now started at Walt Disney World as a number of dining locations only have plastic straws available upon request. According to the DisneyFoodBlog, a couple of table-service restaurants have started this move and Kona Cafe at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is one of them.

Cape May Cafe at Disney’s Beach Club Resort is set to begin the plastic straws by request only on Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2018.

Disney is doing this in a roll-out fashion and it has not yet started at quick-service locations. Contempo Cafe, Pecos Bill, Cosmic Ray’s, Casey’s, and Storybook treats all still had them as of the last couple of days.

Straws are on their way out at the Disney Parks, and it has officially begun.
