In a very strange and odd move, a popular and very tasty snack has been taken off of the menu at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The pineapple-flavored Pongu Lumpia from Pongu Pongu in Pandora: The World of Avatar is no longer being sold, and I’m confused.
Pongu Pongu’s signature snack item was the Pongu Lumpia which is/was a pineapple cream cheese spring roll which is incredibly tasty. To be quite honest with you, it was one of our favorite snacks in all of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but now, it is gone.
UPDATE: There are some conflicting reports, coming even from Disney itself on this situation. Some are saying that the Pongu Lumpia is gone entirely. Others are saying that it is available upon request. This is info that has come from both friends asking and us checking directly with Cast Members at the location in Pandora.
So, it seems as if not even the Cast Members are entirely sure what is happening with the popular snack item. Best bet…always ask when at Pongu Pongu to see if the pineapple treat is there.

According to the DisneyFoodBlog, the Pongu Lumpia is off of the menu as of Aug. 23, 2018. Cast Members are saying that there are some left for a few orders, but once they are gone, they’re gone.
It is not believed that this move is one which will be temporary, and that is just so odd. Perhaps, Disney is bringing in something new, but it is quite a shame as the Pongu Lumpia really was very good.
On Disney’s official website, the Pongu Lumpia is still listed on the breakfast menu for Pongu Pongu, but it is fully off of the Lunch/Dinner menu.
Maybe, it will come back in the future, but who knows? Stranger things have happened…remember the Citrus Swirl incident? I personally hope this one returns, but no way of knowing.
Don’t worry, the Night Blossom drink and the alcoholic version are still on the menu over a Pongu Pongu.
