We are a little more than a year away from the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and changes are coming. The Tatooine Traders merchandise store is about to have some refurbishment done and a few sections will be unavailable for a while.
The Star Wars merchandise location at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is having some work done and it is going to begin on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018.
Tatooine Traders is not fully closing during the refurbishment, though. The Droid Factory and Amazing Pictures sections will be closed, but they’re still available in the park. Guests can find a Droid Factory inside of Star Wars Launch Bay and Amazing Pictures inside of Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster.
Those sections of Tatooine Traders are being upgraded and will reopen in mid-October at some time, but an exact date is not yet known.
It is expected that at some point before Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens in late fall of 2019, the rest of the store may be updated as well.
Please note that dates are subject to change and can without any notice. These dates are officially listed on Walt Disney World’s refurbishment schedule, but that does not mean they can’t possibly change.
