Next year, Disney is going to really kick construction of the new TRON roller coaster attraction being built in Tomorrowland and as previously reported, there will be some closures because of it. Now, we know when the Tomorrowland Speedway will turn off its engines to begin its extended closure.
Disney had already announced that the Tomorrowland Speedway and Walt Disney World Railroad would undergo extended closures in 2019. That is due to the construction of the TRON roller coaster, but it was said that both attractions would reopen the same as they currently are.
The Tomorrowland Speedway is going to begin its extended closure on Jan. 2, 2019. An end date for the closure is not yet known, but Disney has already stated that the Tomorrowland Speedway will reopen in “summer 2019.”
There is no exact opening date yet for the new TRON attraction at Magic Kingdom, but it is set to debut in time for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary in 2021.
Please note that dates are subject to change and can without any notice. These dates are officially listed on Walt Disney World’s refurbishment schedule, but that does not mean they can’t possibly change.
