We may not yet have an opening date for the new Disney Skyliner coming to Walt Disney World this fall, but it is certainly coming along nicely. In the last week, the first gondolas have been placed on the wires and testing has officially started on the new transportation.
Some really great shots were captured today by Twitter user @WDW_413 which show some of the first gondolas on the wire of the Disney Skyliner. These pics were taken at the International Gateway entrance/exit of Epcot which is in World Showcase between France and the United Kingdom.
This past weekend, there was some video captured of the gondolas of the Disney Skyliner in action on the cables. Twitter user @ThatFLFeeling caught this video over at Disney’s Hollywood Studios where there will be a station at the park entrance.
The Skyliner will have loading and unloading zones in two parks and four resorts.
Parks
- Epcot – Near International Gateway entrance
- Disney’s Hollywood Studios – Near main entrance
Resorts
- Disney’s Art of Animation Resort – Dual loading zone
- Disney’s Pop Century Resort – Dual loading zone
- Disney’s Riviera Resort – New DVC resort being built
- Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort
Again, there is no exact start date for the Disney Skyliner to begin transporting guests, but it is expected to begin sometime in the fall of 2019.
