On Thursday morning, Disney announced some great new plans for a “Play Pavilion” coming to Epcot in time for the 50th, but there’s much more. It was also revealed that the park entrance of Epcot would receive an overhaul and that includes the removal of Leave A Legacy from its current location.
For years, many guests have wanted to see the entrance of Epcot look different and get the Leave A Legacy monuments out of there. Well, their wishes are about to be granted, but the good thing is that the images and memories won’t be destroyed or gone for good.
As the transformation of Epcot continues, the Leave A Legacy photos will be moved into a new setting just outside of the park’s gateway. It’s not exactly known what this will be, but that is the info given as of now.
Epcot’s immediate park entrance re-design will pay homage to the original park entrance with new pathways, sweeping green spaces, and a newly reimagined fountain. There will also be “significant development” between Spaceship Earth and World Showcase.
For those wanting to stay up-to-date on everything (other than with us here at Doctor Disney), the old Odyssey restaurant will feature a brand-new “Experience Center” opening later this year. Here, guests will be able to enjoy interactive exhibits to help visualize park projects and see what’s coming to Epcot.
