We recently reported that Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway would also be built at Disneyland Park for an opening in 2022. We also found out that the opening date for the version at Disney’s Hollywood Studios was being pushed to “spring 2020,” but today, we have new details and concept art for this awesome new attraction.
The image above is new concept art which features an electronic neon sign showcasing Mickey and Minnie welcoming you to their Runaway Railway.
Fans of the Great Movie Ride will remember the queue had a waiting area which featured a big screen showing movie clips. Well, that area appears as if it will continue to be used with a pre-show that will feature a brand new Mickey Mouse animated short called Perfect Picnic.

Guests will ride along as Goofy leads them in the locomotive which was shown in both regular light and black light (right).

The whistle that will be heard in Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is going to be the actual whistle used for Steamboat Willie in 1928. The sound for Goofy’s train will be identical which is a really great touch.
