Throughout the summer, Primeval Whirl has remained closed ever since going down for unexpected maintenance in mid-June. As of this writing, the attraction at Disney’s Animal Kingdom is still closed and it looks like that will last for a couple more months.
There has really never been any kind of explanation as to why Primeval Whirl closed, and has remained closed, other than “unexpected maintenance.” Disney could be using this time and chance to simply refurbish the attraction and get everything in working order.
As guests wait for the reopening of Primeval Whirl, some have started receiving e-mails from My Disney Experience stating their FastPass+ reservations have been cancelled. These are for dates in September and even going into mid-October.
For now, there is no way of knowing when Primeval Whirl will reopen and we can only wait and see what happens or what info comes forth officially.
Please note that dates are subject to change and can without any notice. These dates are officially listed on Walt Disney World’s refurbishment schedule, but that does not mean they can’t possibly change.
