Back in August, we reported on The Little Mermaid Live coming to ABC with Auli’i Cravalho (Moana) starring in the lead role of Ariel. Now, we are getting our first looks at the main stars in their key roles for the production airing in November.
ABC will be airing The Wonderful World of Disney Presents The Little Mermaid Live! which will take place at 8 p.m. ET on November 5, 2019. It will feature live-action stars, puppetry, and animation mixed together for what is sure to be an incredible performance.
Cravalho will take over the lead role of Ariel while Shaggy is going to step in as the guiding light of Sebastian. Queen Latifah is going to play Ursula with John Stamos playing Chef Louis. Graham Phillips will take on the role of Prince Eric.
The show will have original music from the animated feature film and the Broadway show. Along with that, there will be footage from Disney’s The Little Mermaid to fill in gaps where recreating an underwater scene on stage may be too difficult.
