Unless you were hiding under a rock, you’re well aware that Disney’s Frozen II opened in theaters this weekend. Well, it looks like Disney is well on their way to yet another smashing success as it not only won the weekend, but it brought in an estimated $127 million to kick off its run.
Some people may say they are sick of all the Frozen stuff, but it looks like six years wasn’t enough time to tame the beast. The sequel to the 2013 hit brought in record numbers and the $127 million domestically is the biggest ever opening for a Walt Disney Animation Studios film.
Overseas, Frozen II has already brought in another $223.2 million as it is well on its way to being yet another Disney film to earn $1 billion at the box office this year.
With the Thanksgiving holiday week and weekend upcoming, it is quite possible that the numbers for Frozen II only continue to magically rise.
