After this past weekend’s announcement that Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood would be closing their parks, additional closures have now come forth. Both CityWalk locations and all Universal Resort hotels in Central Florida will close this week due to the threat of the coronavirus.
On Monday afternoon, Universal Orlando Resort issued an amended statement letting guests know of additional closures.
As of 12:00 A.M. (midnight) on March 17, 2020 (the end of Monday, March 16, 2020), Universal CityWalk will close on both coasts. Yes, CityWalk at both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort wil close.
At 5:00 P.M. Eastern on Friday, March 20, 2020, all hotels at Universal Orlando Resort will close. This is giving guests currently staying there, time to make travel accommodations for getting home.
As of this time, Universal anticipates the closures to last at least through March 31, 2020.
