Despite the fact that nothing has been completely confirmed about the continuation of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, we may know our next lead.
According to ComicBook.com, Disney is eyeing Karen Gillan to take over the lead from Johnny Depp.
Rumors have been circulating for quite some time that the franchise would move on to follow the tales of Redd. For those who somehow aren’t aware, Redd is the female pirate who has taken on a new role in the park attractions.
If you’re not familiar with Gillan’s work, she already has a nice history with Disney. She has starred as Nebula in multiple films in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She has also had great success in the Jumanji films.
Nothing is confirmed as of this time as far as Gillan goes in the Pirates franchise, but it will be interesting to see what the future brings.
