Shanghai Disney Resort Releases Video Showing New Park Operations, New Socially-Distant Character Interactions

Shanghai Disneyland is set to reopen on Monday, May 11, 2020, and it will be the first Disney Park around the world to reopen since the coronavirus closures. Now, we have a look at just how things could be for the domestic parks thanks to a video showing new measures and social-distancing interactions.

The video below will show how the new safety measures are going to be handled at the Shanghai Disney Resort. It details how guests will book their advance reservation tickets, how bag checks will work, how dining will be handled, how loading attraction vehicles will go, and how temperature checks will be handled.

We don’t know if this is how things will take place at the parks of Walt Disney World or Disneyland, but it could be a sign of things to come.

As for character interactions at Shanghai Disneyland, they will be entirely different. For the time being, there will be no up-close character interactions as meet-and-greets are temporarily suspended.

Shanghai Disneyland will have the “Mickey and Friends Express” character procession which will take place several times daily. Disney Princesses and other face characters will not wear face masks to preserve character integrity, but they will be kept at a very safe distance from all guests.

Groups of characters will be around the park to welcome guests into lands, but again, no up-close interaction with guests.

Again, we do NOT know if this is how things will transpire or take place at the domestic parks of Walt Disney World and Disneyland.
