‘Disney Society Orchestra And Friends’ Temporarily Replaces ‘Beauty And The Beast: Live On Stage’

A brand new show called “Disney Society Orchestra and Friends” has arrived at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. For the time being, this show is replacing “Beauty and the Beast: Live on Stage.”

As the talks between the actors’ equity union and The Walt Disney Company remain at an impasse, some shows have remained closed. Stage shows such as a Frozen Sing-Along, Festival of The Lion King, and others are still not operating in the Disney Parks, and it is not known when they will.

Over at Hollywood Studios, that has created a bit of a problem with multiple attractions staying shuttered. Earlier this week, the Disney Junior Dance Party reopened with very slight changes, but now, one other show has been replaced entirely.

The Disney Society Orchestra and Friends began its run on Sunday, and it takes place multiple times daily in the Theater of the Stars. Showtimes listed are (always check daily for any changes):

  • 11:15 A.M.
  • 12:00 P.M.
  • 1:00 P.M.
  • 1:45 P.M.
  • 2:30 P.M.
  • 4:10 P.M.
  • 4:55 P.M.
  • 5:35 P.M.
  • 6:25 P.M.

The new show has a band on the stage playing through some different Disney and Pixar hits. Near the end of the nearly 20-minute show, characters from Beauty and the Beast come out on stage to join in the fun.

During a medley of “Be Our Guest,” Lumiere is joined on stage by Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts, and Chip. Afterward, Belle and Beast come on stage as the band plays “Beauty and the Beast.”

It is not known how long this show will be in place or if “Beauty and the Beast: Live on Stage” will return.
