Rooms At Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort To Receive ‘Moana’ Themes – Monorail Station To Temporarily Close

With news that Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort will remain closed until next year, details are now starting to emerge. Disney has now confirmed that the rooms of the resort are being redone and will include themes from the hit movie Moana.

While the DVC portion of Polynesian Village has been open for a while, the resort hotel will remain closed until summer of 2021. A spokeswoman for Walt Disney World has now given details on what will be coming to the rooms of the resort.

Per the Orlando Sentinel:

“A Disney World spokeswoman on Monday said changes to the rooms will include a move to a Pacific Ocean-inspired color palette as well as details, patterns and textures from Disney’s “Moana,” an animated film that takes place on the Polynesian island of Motunui.”

Further details aren’t yet known, but we can’t wait to find out what they have in store for Poly and Moana.

During the extended closure of the resort, the monorail station at Disney’s Polynesian Village will end up closing in early October 2020. It is not yet known when it will reopen.

The Resort Monorail will remain operational, but it will simply not stop at Polynesian Village. Guests will be able to use boats to get to Magic Kingdom as well as the walkway to the Transportation & Ticket Center for use of the monorail.

Guests looking to go to EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney Springs will have buses available. Beginning in early October, buses to Magic Kingdom will also begin from Polynesian Village.

The EPCOT monorail beam is still not operational.
