On January 1, 2021, park hopping will return to the Walt Disney World Resort, but it still will take some work to get to EPCOT. The monorail beam going into EPCOT will remain unavailable as the new year rolls around, and there is no word on when it will become active again.
WDW Magic has reported that park-to-park transportation will resume on January 1, 2021, but not by way of the Monorail.
Park-to-park transportation will begin shortly before 2:00 P.M. which is when park hopping will begin each day. Watercraft and the Disney Skyliner will be available, but guests looking to head to EPCOT by monorail will not be able to do so.
Disney has stated that the closure of the EPCOT monorail beam is still temporary, and they will assess the needs for that beam as necessary.
