Disney Cruise Line is returning to the water after more than a year away due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the summer of 2021, they will present the “Disney Magic at Sea” sailings which will take place only in the United Kingdom.
Just as Royal Caribbean Cruise Line and Celebrity Cruise Line have announced their restarts, DCL is doing the same.
“Disney Magic at Sea” will be 2-, 3-, and 4-night sailings on the Disney Magic sailing out of Dover, England. Don’t worry about ports and what may be necessary at those, though, as you won’t actually be landing anywhere. Most of the sailings will be two or three nights, but there will also be limited 4-night round-trip sailings from London Tilbury, Newcastle, Liverpool, and Southampton.
The sailings will be strictly on the ship and dedicated to the Disney characters, entertainment, and magical dining known from Disney Cruise Line. Guests will be able to enjoy visits from Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Anna, Elsa, Olaf, characters from Toy Story, Marvel heroes, and so many more.
There will be a royal promenade with Disney Princesses and physically-distanced photos with Captain Mickey will be available. Don’t forget about the entertainment returning to the Walt Disney Theatre.
“Our teams are bringing tremendous ingenuity and fun to these new cruises, tailoring them with care to the times we are living in, yet filling them with everything you’d expect from Disney, from great service and entertainment to immersive dining experiences and magic for the whole family,” said Thomas Mazloum, president of Disney Cruise Line.
There will be a number of health and safety measures in place for these sailings in accordance with the United Kingdom government as well as the CDC. These measures include COVID-19 testing, face coverings/masks, health screenings, temperature checks, social distancing, enhanced cleaning, and reduced guest capacity.
Disney Magic at Sea sailings will take place this summer and have an expected sale date of sometime in April of 2021.
