One of the biggest thrill rides in all of Walt Disney World will be unavailable for quite some time next year. Beginning in January of 2022, Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will close for a three-month refurbishment.

Expedition Everest will be reopening at Disney’s Animal Kingdom on April 14, 2022. It appears is if the extended refurbishment has been completed ahead of schedule.

UPDATE – February 21, 2022
The refurbishment of Expedition Everest has been extended through April 30, 2022. It is now tentatively scheduled to reopen to guests on May 1, 2022.
As always, it is possible that it could open earlier if completion of work allows.

On January 4, 2022, Expedition Everest will close to begin its refurbishment. This work is scheduled to continue into mid-April, and there is no exact date yet known for its reopening.
While this will be a long closure, the work is reportedly set to be on the ride mechanics and not on the Yeti.
Please note that dates are subject to change and can, without any notice. These dates are officially listed on Walt Disney World’s refurbishment schedule, but that does not mean they can’t possibly change.
