Guests have been wondering and it now appears as if we have a general idea of when a big change is coming to Disney Parks. Anika Noni Rose (the voice of Princess Tiana) has stated that the Princess and the Frog retheme of Splash Mountain is opening in 2024.
On Thursday morning, Rose appeared on Live with Ryan and Kelly to speak on different subjects. During that time, she stated that Disney has plans to open the new attraction at Walt Disney World (Magic Kingdom) and Disneyland in 2024.
Rose stated she is working with the creative team at Disney on the new theme for the attraction.
“They are making a ride — it’ll be out in 2024. I’ve been involved in the beginning, just talking about how we want it to be, what we want it to do, but, if I were to tell you anything else, I would be sucked into the ground and you’d never see me again.”
For the first time since the retheme was announced, we have some sort of date.
A Disney spokesperson has stated that “timing has not been determined” for the opening of the new attraction. While Rose states “2024,” nothing is set in stone until Disney makes an official announcement.
