On Tuesday, Disney announced that a change was coming soon to the Disney Genie+ Service. Soon, guests will be able to modify their Lightning Lane bookings without canceling, and here is how that will work.
At this time, Lightning Lane bookings on Genie+ need to be canceled and rebooked in order to change the arrival window. The update will allow you to search for a better time or different attraction without losing your current selection.
Upon launch, guests will see an ellipsis (three dots) – … – on your Lightning Lane selection in Genie+. To modify your selection, tap the ellipsis and choose “Modify Plan.” You will then see other choices and times that you can choose.
Modifications made to your Lighting Lane choice will not reset the 120-minute window between selections.
Please note that modifications of Lighting Lane selections will need to be done in the same park where the original choice was made. If you’d like to make a selection in another park, you would still need to cancel and rebook.
Please also note that this will not work for Individual Lightning Lane selections. They will not be able to be canceled or modified.
Guests can expect this change to Disney Genie+ sometime in the next week. Be on the lookout for an update to the My Disney Experience app soon for both iOs and Android.
