As fans are enjoying the new series on Disney+, many are wondering if the film franchise will ever continue. Well, we now have another update on a third National Treasure and it appears that things are still in the works.
National Treasure: Edge of History is now streaming on Disney+, and the spinoff is proving to be quite popular. Fans, though, want to see Nicolas Cage return as Benjamin Franklin Gates and that wish is not dead.
According to E News, Jerry Bruckheimer states that they are still working on a third film. As a matter of fact, he says Cage is along for the ride and it’s actually in development.
“We said we’d like to make another National Treasure and they said, ‘Sure, let’s come up with a new cast,'” Bruckheimer said. “At the same time, we were developing National Treasure for the theaters with Nicolas Cage—which we still are. So, that’s ongoing.”
We’ve all heard this same thing before as that will lead to another clue and that will lead to another clue, but…is this really going to happen? Hopefully, we will get something concrete on National Treasure 3 before too long.

They sure need a third National Treasure movie staring Nicolas Cage, he is the glue and even the mention of his character in the disany series is enough hope that he will be back. Maybe bringing some of this new cast along for a ride in the new movie would be a great tie in.
