The temporary closure of the Walt Disney World Resort parks and resort hotels due to the coronavirus continues to expand. Originally thought to continue through the closure, all construction work will cease and projects will be put on hold during the threat.

The Orlando Business Journal has confirmed that construction is going to stop immediately and work will not continue during the closure. It was originally stated that the work would continue with smaller crews while the parks were closed, but Disney has since changed their stance on that.

It is not yet known if the work will stop throughout the duration of the closure, but construction at Walt Disney World is not happening at this time. There have also been reports that work at Disneyland is also stopping and that includes on Avengers Campus which is set to open in July.

Here are just some of the construction projects currently happening at Walt Disney World:

  • TRON at Magic Kingdom
  • Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at Epcot
  • Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at Epcot
  • The overhaul of Epcot
  • Reflections – A Disney Lakeside Lodge
