On Saturday, June 30, 2018, the moment we have all been waiting for…is going to happen. Toy Story Land is about to open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and we will ALL…BE…TOYS! As we approach the grand opening, let’s check out everything we know about one of the great new attractions – Slinky Dog Dash.

Over the course of the past week or so, Cast Members have been enjoying their previews of Slinky Dog Dash and having the honor of looking around Toy Story Land some. But what do we really know about the springy sensation?
Attraction Description
Here is Disney’s official description of Slinky Dog Dash:
Slinky Dog Dash is a family coaster themed as if Andy built it in his backyard using his Mega Coaster Play Kit and some of his other favorite toys. The attraction’s ride vehicles, inspired by the character of Slinky in the film, will send riders dipping, dodging and dashing around turns and drops Andy has created to stretch Slinky’s coils to the max.
Sounds like fun, right?
Ride Details
Height Requirement: 38 inches
Number of Cars and Riders: 5 cars with 18 riders – 2 per car
Speed: Estimated to be close to 40mph, but that information has not been officially revealed yet
Duration: 117 seconds
Rider Switch Offered: Yes
Attraction Queue
After our preview, it was now obvious that there is indeed very little shade. When you start out in the line, you are going to be right under the burning sun, but the closer you get to boarding the attraction, the more shade you’ll have.
- Open air queue – Completely outside from start to finish
- Very little shade
- Some ceiling fans and fans stationed in the side stations
- Extremely detailed with tinker toys and other items from Andy’s backyard
The new Slinky Dog Dash roller coaster looks like it is going to be a ton of fun and a great way to spring into action. More info will become known this week, but as of now, we know quite a bit and just can’t wait for our first ride. Toy Story Land officially opens to all guests on June 30, 2018, at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
