The very first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party of 2018 took place on Friday night and as expected…it was awesome. This year, though, there were a handful of new experiences and events, so, here is your review of all the things at MNSSHP.
For those going to the Halloween parties this year, don’t worry. The usual entertainment events such as Boo-To-You, Happy HalloWishes, and Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular are all there, but the new offerings are a lot of fun too.
All of the following events are only available during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, and not during regular park hours.
Pirates of the Caribbean
For the parties, there will be some live actors throughout the queue and attraction over in Adventureland. While you’re in line, some pirates will have fun with you and ask you for your gold and other belongings.
As you approach the loading dock, a pirate will speak to all those setting out on their journey. He is offering up a reward for the capture of Gunpowder Pete who is hiding somewhere throughout the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.
When it comes time, you will be able to spot Gunpowder Pete as he is on top of the bridge right before the fire scene.
Mad Tea Party
The Mad Tea Party has some new music and psychedelic lights flashing as you go round and round. I don’t ride this attraction normally, and certainly didn’t ride it at the party, but it looked like a lot of fun for those on it.
Storybook Circus Disney Junior Jam
Head on over to Storybook Circus to enjoy a dance party as a DJ plays great music for a fun Halloween event, and you can party with some characters. Timon and Doc McStuffins are there throughout the night to dance, play games, and just get down.
Near the end of the night, this area had very few guests in it, but the characters kept having fun and it was a great time to go.
Space Mountain
Now, Space Mountain at the parties is an event that isn’t overly easy to capture on video or with pictures. All of the lights are turned off, so, you’re riding it in complete darkness and with a new Halloween music soundtrack.
It’s a simple concept, but it is a lot of fun and quite intense the majority of the time. Even if you know the attraction well enough to have the track memorized, it’s still awesome.
