Permits Filed Show A ‘Jurassic Park’ Roller Coaster Coming To Islands Of Adventure

Last year, it was revealed that Jurassic Park – The Ride was closing at Universal Hollywood for a new Jurassic World attraction. Well, those on the east coast don’t need to feel left out as it appears as if a new Jurassic Park roller coaster is actually coming to Islands of Adventure.

Right now, Jurassic Park River Adventure is undergoing its annual refurbishment, and there are not huge changes expected during that time. But, there is bigger news on the horizon as permits have been filed which seem to indicate a Jurassic Park roller coaster is being built.

In the past couple of weeks, numerous walls have gone up in the Jurassic Park area along with the carnival games and vendor stands being closed. The old Triceratops Encounter attraction was also walled off, but it’s been closed forever anyway.

All of this works out with a demolition permit that was filed with the City of Orlando back in May. The permit lists “Project 791” for an area the size of 1.36 acres, and it states that a new attraction will be built within the next 1.5 years.

Documents show a roller coaster track for the area with the queue stretching around the Discovery Center. That would work out with the construction walls shown in the images above.

As of now, Universal Orlando has said nothing regarding a Jurassic Park roller coaster as permits to demolish have been filed, but not yet to build. It is known that there is work that will be done in that area and Universal Orlando has confirmed that, but no further details have been given.
