Details On Walt Disney World Reservation System – No Park Hopping, No Guaranteed Access

Walt Disney World has already revealed that there will be a park entry reservation system for when they reopen next month. Now, some new details have emerged to help us better understand how the system will work.

The official website of Walt Disney World has not yet been updated with this information, so, the following may or may not become a reality.

Virgin Holidays has sent out an email to guests with some inclusions that explain how park hopping (or lack thereof) and access into the parks will work.

Guests will need to book the specific days they want to go to specific parks and lock them in with the reservation system. It has not yet become active, but it is expected soon.

Park Hopping

Per Virgin Holidays:

“To enter a park, both a park reservation and valid admission for the same park on the same date is required. Reservations need to be made via My Disney Experience in the coming weeks. You can request one park a day. As customers won’t need to hop between parks, the hopper service is currently suspended.

This reservation applies for all confirmed tickets through 2020, so reserve your parks as early as possible to help plan your itinerary.

So, it appears as if park hopping will cease to exists at least until further notice, but again, this is not yet confirmed by Disney. Many guests are seeing this circulate, though, and it is something that has been questioned.

No Guaranteed Access

Walt Disney World has also stated that there is no guaranteed access to a park for any reason. If you are staying at an on-site resort hotel, have tickets, or even have an Annual Pass…you are not guaranteed access to a park.

If you do not have a reservation to enter a park, and that park is at whatever capacity may be for the day, you are not getting in.

Disney has not yet said how this will affect Annual Passholders who pay specifically for that amenity.
