Universal Orlando Resort No Longer Requiring Masks Indoors For Fully Vaccinated Guests As Of Saturday, May 29

Changes are continuing to be made, and Universal Orlando Resort is making the next big step. Beginning on Saturday, May 29, 2021, masks/face coverings are no longer going to be required indoors or outdoors.

The “no masks required” indoors rule is for fully vaccinated guests.

Guests will no longer be required to have on a mask indoors or outdoors. Team Members will still be required to wear one both indoors and outdoors.

While this change is said to go into effect on Saturday, Universal Orlando has already updated their website with the changes.

Per Universal:

“In accordance with CDC guidelines, face coverings are no longer required for fully vaccinated guests, indoors or outdoors. While we do not require proof of vaccination, we do expect those who are not fully vaccinated to wear face coverings while indoors.

“We do not require proof of vaccinations.”

Two weeks ago, Universal Orlando Resort dropped the outdoor mask mandate for all guests but still required them in stores, dining locations, and attractions.

For Team Members, those who are fully vaccinated will not be required to wear a mask but with only a few exceptions. Universal Orlando Resort is requiring unvaccinated Team Members to wear masks indoors backstage and outdoors when physical distancing is not able to be done.

Universal Orlando Resort has also removed all mentions of “at least three feet between parties.” The new policy states “We encourage all guests to keep a safe distance between your travel party and others.”

As of this writing, the Disney Parks are still requiring masks indoors.
